Better Breathing for Better Sleep

Non-medication means to better sleep

This time of year disruptions in our schedules can result in temporary sleep problems.  For those times when you toss and turn, consider turning to your breathing, rather than medicine, if you can.  Practiced regular breathing, yoga breathing, belly breathing, all are terms for intentional, mindful turning towards slowing down our minds and bodies so that we can get rest.  Of course, if sleep problems and fatigue persist - contact your PCP - a sleep study may be in your future.  And, consider EEG based biofeedback to better regulate those regions of the brain that control sleep.
